Hi. I found this website from Merlin Blencowes website.

I have been playing guitar on and off for about 15 years and got involved in the DIY scene around 10 years ago.

I took an unusual route being that I started with a tube screamer then wanted to build an amp but none of the usual starter projects like the 18w tmb appealed to be.

So I spent months on end reading up about the Soldano SLO, safety guidance and most importantly other people's build threads on sloclone and the issues they ran into and also learning the best practices.

After a month or so I had an amp that kinda worked first time. It created sound but was stuck on the clean channel. I spent days looking over it and my wife spotted the issue that I had mixed up a 47r and 47k resistor (I'm colourblind)

After swapping them over I was in complete amazement that I had done it, it had little to no hum and sounded incredible.

Following on from that I built more amps and during lockdown decided to share some of what I had learnt by developing diy preamp pcbs with in depth instructions and very clear wiring layouts.

To date I've done 3 single channel preamps and a 20w push pull 6v6 power amp.

This forum and the projects seem excellent and I'm looking forward to hopefully being able to contribute and check out some of the projects!

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Tony.

I'll post a thread of a build. I don't want to come off as just marketing haha.
