Took my G5 out in public last weekend
My little swing band ("Atomic Frog") played a private party this weekend. For the first time I left the Fender at home and took the G5. It performed well, better than I did. I liked the tone, my pianist liked the tone, and I got tone-compliments from a couple of party guests. When I listened to the recording of the gig, I still liked the tone. My pianist has asked me to switch permanently to the G5.
Anyway, this was a little milestone for me.

Okay, here is a cut, but with the following warnings: playing is rough, singing is rough, recording is rough, the cut is shortened because the singer got confused EVEN THOUGH WE"VE PLAYED THIS SONG A HUNDRED TIMES but you get an idea of the tone I look for, not particularly much treble, with a lot of the wood of the guitar ('58 gibson es125t). Amp was set, probably, master at 13:00, vol at 15:00, bass at 12:00, mid at 14:00, treble at 10:00, guitar tone at maybe 6-7, guitar volume at same turned to 8-9 for solo. Settings are just guesses, I don't get anal about it. Like I said I doubt if many people are looking for a similar tone.
